IT Manager – Central London – Top Company – 75 – 80K + Package

We are are looking for an IT Manager for our top client in central London. They are an excellent business which is having phenomenal growth, they have had multi-million pound investment and their product is quite genius. We require someone who is customer facing, a great communicator, someone who can motivate staff and have at least 3-5 years experience being an IT Manager. We are looking for someone who has experience working on ERP Systems, a Linux background and someone who knows about Networking, Firewalls and security. The ideal person needs to be a peoples person, understand all IT requirements, mentor the team and have excellent interpersonal skills.

Job Description

Job Responsibilities:

Directs, manages, supervises and coordinates the activities and operations of the Information Technology Department including hardware, software, network, telephone, audio visual and computer systems administration.

Identifies, recommends, develops, implements, and supports cost-effective technology solutions for all aspects of the organisation.

Prepares bid specifications and analyses bid proposals for computer and network equipment, software and maintenance.

Accomplishes information systems objectives by managing staff; designing and monitoring information systems.

Analysing the business requirements of all departments to determine their technology needs.

Overseeing all technology operations and evaluating them to established goals.

Responsible for identifying IT risk and security, including electronic records and signatures compliance, physical security, personnel security, incident management, business continuity, preparing security standards, policies, and procedures.

Leads, guides, and oversees the information technology budgeting and expenditure processes

Job Duties:

  • Assume management responsibility for assigned services and activities of the Information Technology Department including designing, implementing, and administering company-wide information technology activities; manage, upgrade, and direct the installation, operation, and maintenance of information technology hardware and software; manage and maintain data and equipment security; administer and provide ongoing technical support and training for company staff
  • Maintains organisation’s effectiveness and efficiency by defining, delivering, and supporting strategic plans for implementing information technologies.
  • Directs technological research by studying organisation goals, strategies, practices, and user projects.
  • Preserves assets by implementing disaster recovery and back-up procedures and information security and control structures.
  • Recommends information technology strategies, policies, and procedures by evaluating organisation outcomes; identifying problems; evaluating trends; anticipating requirements.
  • Determines security requirements by evaluating business strategies and requirements; researching information security standards; conducting system security and vulnerability analyses and risk assessments; studying architecture/platform; identifying integration issues; preparing cost estimates.
  • Safeguards assets by planning and implementing disaster recovery and back-up procedures and information security and control structures.
  • Accomplishes information technology staff results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counselling, and disciplining employees; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.
  • Completes projects by coordinating resources and timetables with user departments and company management.
  • Verifies application results by conducting system audits of technologies implemented.
  • Accomplishes financial objectives by forecasting requirements; preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analysing variances; initiating corrective action.
  • Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing organisation standards.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional societies.
  • Purchases efficient and cost effective technological equipment and software
  • Assists in building relationships with vendors and creating cost-efficient contracts

Qualifications:

Proven experience as IT Manager or similar role

Strong leadership and decision making skills

Excellent analytical and problem solving skills

Outstanding communication abilities

Ability to explain complex systems in simple terms

An ability to work to tight deadlines and within constraints

Ability to recruit, train, mentor, coach and manage personnel

Experience in analysis, implementation and evaluation of IT systems and their specifications

Experience in controlling information technology budget

Excellent knowledge of technical management, information analysis and of computer hardware/software systems

Expertise in data centre management and data governance

Hands-on experience with ERP systems, Microsoft 365, Linux and Microsoft operating systems, computer networks, network administration, network installation

BS in Computer Science and relevant experience in similar role
