Our client is a leading digital agency, who offer all aspects of digital and online marketing services. They are now looking to bring on an experienced java developer, who can provide Java development support to a range of clients, across different industries. As well as be involved in creating building new functionality and features as a part of projects.

 

Responsibilities

 

This role is expected to advise on best development practices, and draw on previous experience to make realistic and commercially viable solutions to problems. You will also be involved in:

* Accuracy of time logging

* Time estimated Vs Time Logged for tasks

* Take part in Scrum style stand-ups

* Estimate and evaluate tickets

* Communicate solutions effectively to managers and other developers

* Follow instructions and recommendations made by senior developers or managers

* Develop new functionality and modules to Java standards

* Iterate and improve on existing functionality and modules to Java standards

* Commit work effectively to version control within the set framework

* Be responsible for your own list of tasks

* Produce highly functional integrations with services and software outside of Magento

 

Skills Required

 

It will be important that you are either an Oracle Certified Associate or a Java SE 8 Programmer Certified, also it

• Java SE 1.8+ experience• Java EE 7+ experience

• Java Server Pages (JSP)/ Servlet experience

• Java Persistence experienceo Java Database Connectivity (JDBC)o Java Persistence API (JPA)o Hibernate ORM

• Demonstrable Object Orientated (OO) development experience

• Build systems experienceo Apache ANTo Apache Maven

• Testing frameworks experienceo TestNG/ jUnito Mockito

• MySQL 5.6+ experience

• Advanced database knowledge

• Demonstrable web service experience

• Experience debugging Java code

• Using AJAX (XML, JSON, etc.) within a web application

• Code Performance and Optimisation experience

• SSH & Linux Operations

• HTML 5

• CSS3

• JavaScript/jQuery

• Git/SVN Version Control

• Java development best practices

• Microsoft Office (minimum: Word, Excel & Outlook)

• Multi-device & Multi-browser testing
