Infrastructure Engineer – West Midlands – 40 – 45K – Award Winning Business


Ivy Blu are searching for an Infrastructure Engineer to join one of our fantastic and award – winning clients based in Solihull, West Midlands.


We are looking for a flexible go-getter with a strong understanding of technology along with the commercial aspects of delivering both a solution and a service in a role. Reporting into the Head of Infrastructure, the primary role of the Infrastructure Engineer is to be responsible for maintaining and expanding Company’s Infrastructure.


Roles and Responsibilities


  • Responsible for Technical management for all cloud – based infrastructure and related technologies
  • Life-cycle management for all cloud – based infrastructure
  • Responsible for tooling, automation, troubleshooting
  • Maintaining and expanding Company’s Infrastructure
  • Ensuring all infrastructure requests are logged, scoped and justified
  • Minimizing service interruptions
  • Quickly responding to incidents and employing a pro-active approach to avoiding future incidents
  • Handle more complex requests that require the ability to plan, document and thoroughly test infrastructure scenarios before any change is implemented


Essential Skills / Experience


  • Proven experience in CloudWatch, Troubleshooting, CloudFormation, CloudFront
  • Ability to demonstrate skills in CloudTrail, Shield, RDS/Aurora, Guard Duty, Cognito, Python Scripting/Ansible, SQL Queries, Linux (preferably CentOS/AWS AMI
  • 3 years’ AWS experience in a service infrastructure position
  • Experience in environment creation, migration, Transit Gateway and S3
  • Knowledge about IAM roles and policies, Security Hardening, Bash script writing, Troubleshooting load/performance, Encryption and Route 53
  • Ability of setting up Database servers
  • Good knowledge of Redis/Elasticache, Backups/restore and Permissions/Security
  • Good working knowledge of Networking and VPN, DNS, SFTP and Windows Server is advantageous
  • Preferred to have experience in Firewall, Load Balancer and New Relic
