Purpose of Role

The main purpose of the Client Manager is to maximise sales opportunities and retain existing business through great relationships. The role will work as part of the sales/client team, acting as a point of contact for their UK clients. The role holder will work to support the Senior Client Manager to plan and manage key account activity in order to maximise revenue and profit opportunities, whilst aiming to achieve the highest levels of client satisfaction.

As well as managing their own accounts, the Client Manager will provide sales support to the Business Development Executives by generating and qualifying business leads to help achieve their UK’s overall sales and client related objectives.

Areas of Responsibility










Management (Retention and Sales Generation)




Drive new sales from existing clients. Manage and build key relationships whilst developing an understanding of their business goals and objectives


Retain and grow AMV (annual maintenance value)


Regular contact via both telephone and email based on account classification


Confirmation of annual renewals


Follow up of support escalations


Manage client queries


  • Seek client references and referrals


New maintenance revenue from existing clients


Retention of accounts by value and number


Client satisfaction score


Direct client feedback


Internal stakeholder feedback


Support to Senior Client Manager



Answering inbound calls


Assist with compiling quotes and accompanying documentation such as proposals & supply agreements


Scheduling training days once supply agreements are signed by clients and sending confirmations


Follow-up calls to clients after training days


CRM upkeep i.e. visit report updates


Work with Client Management team on client communications


New maintenance revenue from existing clients


CRM accuracy


Direct client feedback


Internal stakeholder feedback


Lead Generation



Generate new leads for field sales team

Qualify leads

Liaise with Business Development Executives

Valuable Experience 

  • Experience working in a client facing role
  • Experience in a sales environment, ideally B2B
  • Client calling (prospects and existing)
  • Working towards deadlines
  • Working within a Team to achieve joint goals
  • Experience of liaising with internal stakeholders and departments
  • Examples of providing excellent customer service
  • Experience with numerous forms of communication including telephone and email
