We are looking for a new BI Developer to join a well-established IT Development team for a Sunday Times best company to work for. Over the last two years my client has reaped the rewards of having an in-house software team which has led to growing demand from other parts of the business for new internal and external facing systems.

 
As a new BI Developer you will be joining the company at an exciting time as new upcoming projects will be essential to the future operation of the business.

 
The ideal BI Developer will have skills in the following:

 
• Proven experience as a BI Developer or Data Scientist
• Industry experience is preferred
• A background in data warehouse design and data mining
• Proven abilities to take initiative and be innovative
• BSc/BA in Computer Science, Engineering or relevant field
• Analytical mind with a problem-solving aptitude
• Familiarity with BI technologies
• In-depth understanding of database management systems, online analytical processing (OLAP) and ETL (Extract, transform, load) framework

 
Key responsibilities as a BI Developer will include:

 

• Translate business needs to technical specifications
• Design, build and deploy BI solutions (e.g. reporting tools)
• Maintain and support data analytics platforms
• Create tools to store data (e.g. OLAP cubes)
• Conduct unit testing and troubleshooting
• Develop and execute database queries and conduct analyses
• Collaborate with teams to integrate systems
• Evaluate and improve existing BI systems
• Develop and update technical documentation
• Create visualizations and reports for requested projects
