They aim to deliver an excellent service to a diverse range of customers, as a part of their growth they are now looking for a dynamic 2nd Line IT Support technician to join their business.
Role Description
- This diverse and challenging role will be working with a wide variety of technologies, including cloud and hosted services, and supporting a wide range of applications and hardware across an assortment of businesses.
- The successful candidate will undertake a variety of key responsibilities, including Application, Desktop and Hardware support, through to Networking, system monitoring and Security for our customer sites across Cornwall, West Devon and some further afield.
- Travel to client locations will be required and a suitable vehicle is provided for this.
- You will be expected to participate in an out of hour’s rota and sometimes undertake work during unsociable hours, but this is always kept to a minimum.
- You’ll be instrumental in proposing solutions to clients and to use your technical skills to deliver solutions, resolve issues and develop improvements.
- You will work closely with 3rd party vendors and suppliers, providing exceptional IT Support to our clients and customers.
Key Requirements
- The ideal candidate will have had experience as a 1st and 2nd line support professional and be comfortable working with a diverse range of applications in a Helpdesk environment as well as on site in the Field, being able to provide support in person, by phone and remotely.
- You will have a calm, methodological approach to troubleshooting and a relentless determination to find solutions to technical issues.
- Graduates in an IT related discipline are desirable, although a self-driven motivation to enhance and build upon your existing skills, including the pursuit of industry certifications is essential.
- In addition, the ideal candidate will have a comprehensive knowledge of ICT products and a driven personality to put this knowledge into proposed solutions and an enthusiasm to see proposals through to implementation.
- Knowledge of various technologies such as Active Directory, Exchange, Windows Server, VMWare, Terminal services, Networking, Telephony, Windows 7 and 10, Microsoft Office, as well as Linux and general relevant technical knowledge and IT skills are essential.
